Each student generates funds based on ADA (attendance) that FCS has appropriated for a variety of learning opportunities. Funds are entered into an account that the student’s education specialist (ES) manages. For each school year K-12 students are allocated $1000. Funds may be spent on the following resources:
Your ES will assist you in the selection of core curriculum items to make sure that the materials are consistent with the course of study chosen. All selections must be approved by the ES who then submits a materials request form to the FCS business office. FCS is able to purchase a wide variety of curricula that is specifically non-religious in its content according to state guidelines. (Check out “Curriculum Options” on the pull down menu for an extensive list of our favorite vendors). FCS encourages you to check out California State adopted texts that are aligned to California State Content Standards. Go to: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/cr/cf/index.asp. All materials ordered with instructional budgets are cataloged to the student’s name in the FCS database. They become a part of the FCS resource library inventory when the student has completed the course of study. EdPerfomance Diagnostic
FCS is excited to introduce a new evaluation tool called EdPerformance, an on-line diagnostic instrument that will provide you and your ES with specific information about skills your student has mastered and areas that require more instruction. Through “Skills Connection”, the program then customizes instruction to help master those objectives. Your ES will provide an opportunity for you to tap into this resource at the beginning of the school year. Go to http://www.edperformance.com. |
