About FCS

Enrollment

Thank you for your interest in Forest Charter School. Our program is committed to the educational success of each student. Based on this commitment, Forest Charter School interviews each student and family to ensure our personalized learning program is the best fit for your student. To enroll, please download and complete our Enrollment Application (PDF: 12K) and contact the office at (530) 265-4823 to schedule an interview appointment.

Upon acceptance for admission, and each semester thereafter, all students and their parents are required to sign an enrollment contract.  This contract delineates the roll of student, parent and education specialist (ES) in the education of the student. Non-compliance with this document can result in expulsion.

Considerations For Enrollment

  • Student previously enrolled in Forest Charter School
  • Children of staff and teachers working at Forest Charter School
  • Siblings of those already enrolled in Forest Charter School for 1 year
  • Applicants on the lottery list who reside in Nevada County (if a lottery list exists)
  • All other applicants

Students currently in Special Education holding an open IEP will need to be reviewed by our Special Education Coordinator to determine of Forest Charter School can effectively meet their needs.

School Lottery

When there are more applicants than openings, a lottery will be held and applicants will be considered based on their assigned number as a result of the lottery draw.

Due to the divergent demographics served by this charter school, the lottery may make allowances for varying demographic circumstances, taking into consideration geographic and grade level enrollment.

  • Any public lottery for Forest Charter School will be held on the first and third Monday of the month following a determination that a lottery is necessary, at the administrative office of Forest Charter School.
